Signature Treatment
Help your body do what it does best: heal and restore balance
Manual Lymphatic Drainage, developed by Dr. Emil Vodder in the 1930s, is a gentle, rhythmic massage technique that works with your body’s lymphatic system. Unlike deep tissue massage, MLD uses light, wave-like strokes and gentle pumping movements applied in precise directions that follow the natural pathways of your lymphatic vessels.
- Reduced fluid retention and puffiness for a brighter, more radiant complexion.
- Support for the immune system and relief from sinus congestion and tension.
- A profound sense of calm and relaxation that quiets the nervous system.
- Support for skin tone and texture through improved lymph flow.
Post-surgical MLD is a specialized application of the Vodder Method. Always coordinated with your surgeon’s guidance.
The Neighborhood
Why it's called Cow Hollow
Serenity sits on Union Street, the commercial spine of a neighborhood with more history than its boutiques let on.
1860s-70s
Cow Hollow earns its name honestly: the valley between Pacific Heights and the Presidio was home to more than 30 dairies and roughly 800 grazing cattle, drawn by natural springs in the low ground.
1906
The great earthquake and fire levels much of San Francisco – but spares Cow Hollow. It’s why the neighborhood still has buildings dating to nearly every decade since the 1860s.
Today
The old dairy road is now Union Street: boutiques, cafes, and bistros inside restored Victorians, a short walk from Serenity’s front door.
